Wine maker notes: This Rose is completely different, this was fashioned by a partial grape-drying method—appassimento. It’s medium bodied with decent texture and flavours of freshly picked strawberry and tangy red currant intertwined with herbs, spice and blood orange. The finish is dry, crisp and clean. Pour with pan-seared salmon – even the colour matches.
Tasting Note: This wine is a delicate, rose gold colour. On the nose are layers of fresh melon and wild strawberries, strawberry/rhubarb pastry notes and subtle citrus. The palate has great balance between the sweet ripe strawberry, raspberry and pear notes with underlying crisp acidity. The mid palate has a surprising weight and leads to an elegant, lengthy finish.
Food Pairing: Delightful on its own as a sipping wine! Serve with summer picnics/patio foods and salads, shellfish (oysters, shrimp, mussels), salmon and trout, or roast chicken/turkey burgers. Lovely on its own as well!
