Wine maker notes: The Château's second wine, the Grangeneuve is nevertheless harvested by hand before undergoing additional selection. A Classic Bordelais. First alcoholic then malolactic fermentation is overseen in temperature-controlled and micro-oxygenated stainless steel vats, a process which lasts approximately three weeks. After malolactic fermentation, the Grangeneuve red was aged in oak barrels for almost a year before being bottled.
Grape Variety/Blend: Merlot 75% - Cabernet Franc 25%
Tasting notes: This Grangeneuve boasts a beautiful purple tinged with dark, deeper tones. The intensity of this wine's color is matched only by the tremendous potential of its aromas. On the nose, notes of raspberry and redcurrant unfold on the nose, soon joined by hints of cherry and paprika. On the palate the Grangeneuve is fresh and well-rounded, displaying a tannic structure that is refined and supple. The finish is pleasant and evokes this beautiful chalky terroir.
Food Pairing: Excellent with sauce-based beef dishes and braised lamb, or an absolute delight with cheeses like Camembert, Livarot, Brie...
